E

This cool, cool, Pan-African cat began playing trombone at the age of 9. Coming of age during the explosive post-civil rights black power-motivated era of the 70s, E quickly demonstrated his prowess on the horn playing bass trombone for the high school jazz band in 7th grade. At 14, he began to work professionally for several local cover bands playing the riddims of the 70s and 80s, including the horn sounds of the groups like Kool and the Gang, Earth Wind and Fire, Ohio Players, and James Brown.

A versatile performer, E has always been able to play and appreciate all genres of music as long as it was good. Strong reggae influences include the horn stylings of Burning Spear, Culture, Steel Pulse, Aswad, and of course, Bob Marley and the Wailers.

After an extended hiatus from his horn, E's realization that something was missing has brought him back to the stage, and his afrocentric worldview has led him straight to Talawa...where he belongs.
