Talawa's pulsating, message-laden, hypnotic songs stimulate, educate, and emancipate the mind, and satisfy the soul.
Talawa is a roots rock reggae group flourishing out of the Washington, DC area. The six-man unit consisting of Roots (bass, vocals), Jah B (guitar, vocals), Rivers (keys, vocals), Sir Oz (drums), E (trombone, vocals) and Big Mac (trumpet) are purveyors of spiritually uplifting awareness, using music as a motif to reflect the word, sound, and power of love.
Bourne as an expression of our collective experiences as brothers from various African outposts in the Caribbean, the U.K., and the U.S., we voice riddims of reality and hope that we carefully balance on the wings of our words. These original sounds are for the spiritual healing of all nations.
With JAH as our nucleus, we revolve around love and evolve into better vessels of love and hope. Our ambition is that all who hear will be warmed by the light of that truth. Who feels it, knows it. And shows it.
